Regular pattern forged steel gate valves according to API 602 come available in reduced bore design. Compared with the cast steel gate valve of the same diameter, the flow rate is slightly smaller, but the pressure and temperature range of the forged steel gate valve is higher than that of the cast steel valve, and the sealing performance is much better than that of the cast steel gate valve.
